INFORMAL EDUCATION
Education is not just about school.
Indeed, all the skills, knowledge and attitudes that we accumulate through various experiences and which are often linked
to our daily life, to work, to family, to friends, to associations, to leisure, to travel, to meetings come from informal education.
Informal education is unexpected, unplanned learning, more practical than theoretical, which takes place in different environments, either spontaneously or consciously to satisfy a personal need or motivation.
"Informal education is the source of most of the knowledge and skills that an individual acquires during his life"(Evans, 1981)
Informal learning complements formal learning (which takes place in schools) and makes us who we are today or
who we want to become.
